Chef Tim May is the founder and owner of RedCan Gourmet, a catering facility that provides catered gourmet foods for hotels & resorts that have no food and beverage services. May has remained a part of the hotel and tourism industry for more than 30 years. He completed his 4 year cooking apprenticeship and moved to Whistler in 1990 to be a part of the opening team at The Chateau Whistler.
Tim has established himself as a leader in high end, remote cuisine with emphasis on the art of fine dining and the slow organic food movement. His consulting services are sought by high end Boutique Hotels. He specializes in Dining Room and Kitchen design with sustainability in mind.
During the course of his career, he has served in several reputable places. He was the Executive Chef and Director of Food & Beverage with Clayoquot Wilderness Resort since the resort opened its doors in 1998 until 2011. Clayoquot Wilderness Resort is a world renowned eco tourism resort located in Clayoquot Sound World Biosphere, Vancouver Island.
