Thomas is the Principal Owner of Sage Consulting, a Saskatchewan based company whose focus is authoring financial sovereignty solutions for Canadian Indigenous groups and facilitating collaborative solution-based relationships with Indigenous Services Canada to ensure communal resiliency, independence, and prosperity. Thomas brings over ten years of experience working directly with multiple First Nations in Saskatchewan including Ochapowace Nation, Cowessess First Nation, Kahkewistahaw First Nation, Carry the Kettle First Nation, the Treaty 4 Education Alliance, Yorkton Tribal Council, and File Hills Qu’Appelle Tribal Council.
During the last decade Thomas has provided services ranging from education, curriculum design, education grant funding, community improvement and construction projects, developing policies that address administration protocols, reporting to Indigenous Service Canada, managing Jordan’s Principle Service Coordination for two thousand Nation members and securing funding in excess of $10 million through proposal and grant funding administration.
Prior to engagement with indigenous first nations, Thomas began his professional career as a teacher/educator working in Saskatchewan, Dubai and Kuwait. He holds a Bachelor of Education degree from the University of Regina.
Outside of his professional endeavours, Thomas is a passionate outdoorsman where you’ll be sure to find him fishing all year round, especially during the winter, even though his kids are often far more successful in landing a big catch. He also hunts for select game of which he produces sought-after custom jerky products sold locally in Saskatchewan. Thomas is also active in his community by volunteering his time including Canadian Blood Service, Canadian Transplant Organization, Canadian Cancer Society and the Heart and Stroke and Foundation of Canada as well as serving as a board member of the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League.
