Darlene DeHart is the Accounts Manager of Legacy Tourism Group. Darlene’s role, in addition to being the Accounts Manager, includes bringing her tourism operations experience and research abilities to projects taken on by the Legacy team. Darlene is also the General Manager for Upstream Recreation Corp. Responsibilities in both of these roles include account ledgers, accounts payable and receivable, payroll, government reports (tax remittance), customer bookings and retail orders and sales, filing and all aspects of correspondence and reception duties.
Darlene was also a founder and co-owner of Destiny River Adventures from 1998-2012, again taking on the role of General Manager.
Her past related experience includes working as bookkeeper for the BC River Outfitters Association and the International Rescue Instructors Alliance. She was the Tourism Co-ordinator for Vancouver Island Air Ltd., responsible for planning, booking and guiding boat/airplane wilderness tours to remote coastal destinations. In the winter season she also was responsible for quoting, booking, scheduling, ticketing, loading and flight following for daily scheduled and chartered flights.
Darlene’s formal education is as a Special Education Assistant and her early career works included working with special needs children and leading summer outdoor programs. She holds a restricted radio operators license, is a Level 2 NCCP Coach, and holds first aid and air brake certifications.
