North Coast Trail Hut to Hut Plan Business Plan
The North Coast Trail is within the traditional territories of the Quatsino and the Tlatlasikwala First Nations. This joint project (Legacy Tourism Group, RC Strategies, PERC, and 43K Wilderness Solutions) was based on the premise that a Hut to Hut trail would expand the market for trail users by extending the viability of hikes into the shoulder season, thus expanding the potential target market to hikers seeking a modified wilderness experience.
The work completed by the team confirmed the market potential of a Hut to Hut program and developed a detailed business plan to address hut design, placement, construction and management issues.
