Team members from Legacy Tourism Group and The Kings Challenge group have been discussing a working relationship in the development of resort facilities in Bhutan with the approval of the Bhutan monarchy. John Caton traveled to Bhutan a few months ago, hosted by Michael and his team for 10 days to see first-hand the opportunities in this spectacular and rarely visited country. Recently Michael, Sam and Alan from TKC group visited Vancouver Island and met with John and Jim DeHart from Legacy Tourism Group. At the close of their meetings an MoU (memorandum of understanding), was signed on June 19, 2014 to formally explore the path forward to develop resorts and provide funding and expertise to co-manage the National Parks in which they would be situated. This very exciting opportunity may result in the next resort development project after the Lodge at Stoney Mountain in the Yukon (or perhaps both at the same time!).
